We will have the benefit Sunday November 10 (our only session in
November) of Patrick Lynam's introduction of the book Revelations: Visions, Prophecy & Politics in the Book of Revelation by Elaine Pagels.  Revelations is the last and most controversial book of the New Testament. The controversy is not new, and many of the bishops at the Council of Nicea opposed including Revelations in the canon.

Subjects covered in Pagels’ book include:  the Apocalypse, The Apocrophon, John of Patmos, Ezekiel, Isaiah,The Revelation of Ezra, Ignatius, Nero, Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Army, St. Paul, St. Anthony, Bishop Irenaeus, The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, #666, the Gnostics, Montanus, Constantine, the Council of Nicea and the Anti-Christ.

Elaine Pagels is a professor of religion at Princeton University and the winner of the National Book Award for The Gnostics.
