FMW Meeting for Business, November 10 at rise of meeting.  All are invited to participate in FMW’s 2nd Sunday meeting discussions, updates and decision-making.  Contributions to a potluck lunch beforehand are also needed and welcome!

Shoebox Project, December 14-15 (& Collecting old greeting cards now!).  Each year, FMW friends come together over 1,000 packages of useful gifts for homeless men, women and children.  For many, the weekend has become a most meaningful way to mark the holidays.  The packages are decorated with donated greeting card fronts.  Please bring yours to FMW.  Leave them in the box by the bench on Sunday, or bring them to the office during the week.   For more info, call or text CJ Lewis at 202-704-4430

Day Retreat at FMW, Saturday, November 23, 10:00 to 2:30.  The holidays are approaching, and the end of the year is almost upon us. Where has the year gone!? Friends will gather together for a partial day of silence, reflection and worship sharing to take stock individually and collectively on our experience of 2019 and what is before us in the new year. No plans for Thanksgiving? FMW will host a Thanksgiving Potluck on Thursday, November 28 starting at 2 pm. Please RSVP by Monday, November 25 and let Gene Throwe (gthrowe@gmail.com) know what kind of dish you are bringing. Someone has already volunteered to bring the turkey, so sides and desserts are welcomed! We will also need assistance with set-up and clean-up!

Pendle Hill Quaker Study and Retreat Center is conducting a nationwide search for an Executive Director. Please pass the word along among Friends!

US Census:  Participate!  Census data is used to allocate federal dollars back to DC through programs including Medicaid, Education Grants, and school lunch programs? The DC government has asked houses of worship to spread the word this Sunday, that the upcoming 2020 Census matters.  When the census takers contact you, please participate!  For more information to do: https://dccensus2020.dc.gov

FAMILIES AND CHILDREN ARE WELCOME

First Day School begins at 10:30 each Sunday. If you come later than 10:30, please stay a moment with your child to help them settle into the class. Children in FDS are reunited with their parents in the final minutes of Meeting for Worship.

Meeting for Worship 9:00 AM Sunday.  Held in the Quaker House Living Room, this Meeting for Worship has a special invitation to silence seekers. "Quietness enough not only to know our own minds, but to listen to the still small voice."  Child care is not available.  

Meeting for Worship 6:00 PM Sunday. Held in the Parlor, this Meeting for Worship offers a sustaining opportunity for worship at the end of the weekend. Child care is not available. 

Mid-Week Meeting for Worship, Tuesday, 6:00 PM in the Library. Persons seeking to worship during the week should consider this Meeting. Child care is not available.
