Our next second Tuesday evening worship and potluck, for further community fellowship, will be held September 11.  Worship will be in the Meeting Room, at 6:30pm, followed by potluck in the Assembly Room at 7:00pm.

Taylor/Meinke Wedding

Frank Taylor and Mark Mienke will be married Under the Care of the Meeting. All FMW members and FMW attenders are invited to this joyous meeting for Worship for the Pupose of Marriage.

Sunday February 27 – at 4 p.m. FCNL and FMW are co-hosting Building Bridges of Understanding: Conversation  with the Imam. A “conversation” with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf will be held in the Meeting Room. The Imam is the leader of the Cordova Initiative, a multi-national, multi-faith organization dedicated to improving understanding and building trust among people of all cultures and faith traditions.

On Saturday October 2, 2010 join Friends for a work day. All levels of expereince are needed and there are a wide variety of tasks  that need to be completed. If you can only spare a hour or two, please come and join in the work day. Lunch will be availalbe. This is a great way to meet Friends and help maintain the Meeting Property. For further questions, talk to the members of the Property Committee or call the FMW Office. 

August 1, Sunday 5 p.m. Concert– Aaron Fowler, Quaker teaching artist, activist, and musician, will share songs of love, peace, and justice on Sunday, August 1 at 5 pm, at the Friends Meeting of Washington.  F/friends of all ages and affiliations invited!  $10 donation is suggested to benefit Aaron’s work in music, education, and activism, but NO ONE will be turned away for lack of funds. Children free!  This event is sponsored by the Religious Education Committee.  Contact Lauren McAlee for more information.

Please join Friends in a Memorial Meeting for  James Akins who passed away on July 15, 2010. 

Please join Friends to remember the life of Elise Boulding who passed away on June 24, 2010.   She touched the lives of many people in the Quaker community and we would like to honor her life and legacies.  A short reception will be held after the Memorial Meeting. The Meeting is sponsored by the Peace and Social Concerns Committee and Nonviolence International.
